Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

#### Program Overview

The Mathematics and Applied Mathematics program is designed to produce graduates who can quickly adapt to their professional roles, demonstrate strong practical skills, and solve real-world problems effectively. Graduates are expected to be well-recognized by employers, such as public and private primary and secondary schools. The program can be summarized with the guiding principles: "Strong Foundation, Specialized Skills, Application-Oriented, Job-Ready."

- **Strong Foundation:** The foundational courses focus on building a solid base of knowledge.

- **Specialized Skills:** Core courses progressively enhance students' expertise.

- **Application-Oriented:** Practical projects are closely aligned with real-world applications.

- **Job-Ready:** The curriculum is designed to prepare students for immediate employment.

Students have numerous opportunities to showcase their abilities in competitions such as the American and National Mathematical Modeling Competitions and the Zhejiang Provincial Statistical Survey Competition, where they have won various awards including international grand prize nominations and national and provincial first prizes, ranking among the top in the province. The program aims to develop students' professional knowledge and skills in "Mathematics Education," "Mathematical Modeling," or "Data Statistics," supplying a significant number of talented graduates to educational institutions, financial sectors, and corporate data analysis departments. Graduates enjoy high employment rates with steadily increasing salaries.
