Rudolf Scharping Visits Wenzhou University of Technology

On September 13th-14th, Mr. Rudolf Scharping, former German Minister of Defense, former chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, and chairman of the board of directors of Rudolf Scharping Strategic Consulting Exchange Co., Ltd., visited Wenzhou University of Technology for investigation and exchange. Lin Weiping, former director of Wenzhou Education Bureau, accompanied the visit.

On the afternoon of the 13th, accompanied by Wenzhou University of Science and Technology Party Secretary Qian Qiang and Vice President Wu Xiangpeng, Mr. Rudolf Scharping and his delegation inspected the Yueqing Campus of Wenzhou University of Technology on site to understand the construction planning of the new campus and the direction of running schools. Leqing City Symposium

In Yueqing, Mr. Rudolf Scharping, Wenzhou University of Technology delegation, and Dai Xukang, deputy secretary of Leqing Municipal Committee and mayor, vice mayor Chen Xiaojiao and relevant department responsible comrades conducted a seminar. Dai Xukang introduced the basic situation and industrial situation of Leqing City to the guests. Mr. Scharping introduced his insights from over 150 trips to China in the past 18 years and suggestions on cooperation between China and Germany in industrial and educational fields.

On the morning of the 14th, Rudolf Scharping's delegation visited the Binhai Campus of Wenzhou University of Technology. President Zhou Wenlong introduced the basic situation, characteristics of running schools and future development planning of the school to Rudolf Scharping's delegation. Zhou Wenlong pointed out that international cooperation is a key area for the school's future development. The school attaches great importance to cooperation with Germany and looks forward to broad and in-depth collaboration and linkage with Germany in talent cultivation, scientific research, industrial innovation and social services, aiming at win-win cooperation and development in the future. Rudolf Scharping highly recognized and evaluated Wenzhou University of Technology's philosophy of running schools, and proposed suggestions on behalf of the Steinbeis Foundation Germany on cooperation between Wenzhou University of Technology and Germany in the future in areas such as teacher visits, student exchanges, running schools jointly, and integration of production, education and research.
