Wenzhou University of Technology Jointly Builds an Industrial Worker Skill Upgrading Digital Research Institute with Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions

On the afternoon of November 23, 2023, the founding ceremony of the "Industrial Worker Skills Upgrading Digital Research Institute" jointly built by Wenzhou University of Technology and Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions (hereinafter referred to as the Research Institute) was held in the audio-visual room on the second floor in the library of Wenzhou University of Technology Binhai Campus. Hu Changhong, party secretary and deputy Chairman of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions, Lin Shuhong, party member and deputy chairman, Wu Kechu, party member and second-level researcher, Qian Qiang, party secretary of Wenzhou University of Technology, Lv Chaohui, deputy party secretary, Hu Xingen, vice president attended the signing ceremony. Related leaders of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions, relevant departments of the school, relevant leaders of the School of Digital Technology and student representatives participated in the signing ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Hu Xingen. 

Lv Chaohui made a speech. He indicated that the establishment of the Research Institute is a concrete measure to deeply implement the development strategies of the central, provincial and municipal governments and accelerate the cultivation of high-quality technical and skilled talents. It is a beneficial exploration to strengthen the enhancement of industrial workers' abilities, promote the integration of industry and education, and the integration of school and land. It is also an effective path for our school to deepen theme education and actively serve local high-quality development. The school will provide all kinds of guarantees for the Research Institute and promote the Research Institute to achieve high standards, characteristics, serve as a good helper for industrial talents' career development, set a new model of digital empowerment, and promote digital projects and the Research Institute to reach the whole province and the country. 

Zhou Yue, director of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions Workers' Technology Cooperation Center, introduced the background, construction situation and target positioning of the Research Institute. The Research Institute will focus on the reform and construction of the industrial workers' team and the integration of digitalization reform, gradually promoting from the systematic planning, standardized construction of digital platforms to industrial promotion, to achieve the sustainable development of digital platforms themselves. 

At the meeting, Lin Shuhong, party member and deputy chairman of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions, and Liu Mingzhe, dean of School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of Wenzhou University of Technology, signed a cooperation agreement. 

Then Qian Qiang, party secretary of Wenzhou University of Technology, and Hu Changhong, party branch secretary and deputy chairman of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions, unveiled the new Research Institute. 

Liu Mingzhe made a speech of commitment. He indicated that the Research Institute will adhere to the principles of "school-union cooperation, complementary advantages and win-win cooperation", fully integrate the advantages and resources of both parties, explore new models of industry-education integration, and strive to build an innovative base for digital empowerment of industrial talents across the industrial chain with the characteristics of trade unions, taking root in Wenzhou and driving Zhejiang and radiating across the country. 

Afterwards, Hu Changhong, on behalf of Wenzhou Federation of Trade Unions, expressed gratitude to the leaders and comrades who had worked hard in the preparation of the Research Institute. He hoped that the Research Institute could build a "Wenzhou model" for industrial transformation work, provide a "Wenzhou scheme" for industrial transformation work, and promote a "Wenzhou mode" for industrial transformation work. 

Hu Changhong's group also visited the Party Members' Home, Staff Home, Canteen and Library of the school in turn to inspect the construction of staff sites and gave full affirmation and high praise.
