Our University's Laboratory of New Energy Materials and Devices Approved as Key Laboratory of Wenzhou

Recently, the Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau announced the list of "Wenzhou Key Laboratories 2023". The "Key Laboratory of New Energy Materials and Devices in Wenzhou", which was led by our university, has successfully been approved as a municipal-level key laboratory in Wenzhou. 

Wenzhou's key laboratories are an important part of the its scientific and technological innovation system. They serve as crucial platforms for the construction of specialized disciplines in higher education institutions and play a significant role in organizing high-level basic and applied research, focusing on and cultivating outstanding scientific and technological talents, and conducting high-level academic exchanges. They are essential in the construction of university disciplines, scientific and technological innovation, and talent cultivation.

The approved Key Laboratory of New Energy Materials and Devices in Wenzhou is a specialized, high-level, and international scientific research platform in the field of new energy materials and devices in the Wenzhou region, jointly established by our university's School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electronic Engineering and Zhejiang Yutai Auto Parts Co., Ltd. The laboratory focuses on the technological and talent needs of the new energy industry, one of Wenzhou's five strategic emerging industries, particularly in the areas of power battery materials, key materials for wind power equipment, and photovoltaic materials and devices. It aims to become a talent hub that emphasizes both fundamental applied research and the transformation of major achievements, integrating government, industry, academia, and research.

In the next step, the Key Laboratory of New Energy Materials and Devices in Wenzhou will further integrate and optimize research conditions in relevant directions to meet the major strategic needs of key basic materials in the city's new energy industry. It will continue to strengthen the construction of its research team, enhance its research and development capabilities, and carry out key research in basic and applied research in the new energy industry. It aims to promote the open sharing of scientific and technological resources, provide scientific and technological services, play a leading role in disciplines and industries, promote the deep integration of production, education, and research, and strive to become a leading innovation and research platform in new energy materials and devices in China. This will provide strong support for the construction of master's degree programs in the university and the cultivation of high-level applied talents, and contribute to the high-quality development of the city's new energy strategic emerging industry and its economy and society.
